Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission.
“I am beyond thrilled and honored to serve for the governor and our great State of Texas,” said Sullivan.
The Commission’s goal is to preserve, protect, expand and attract new military missions, assets and installations. Additionally, the Commission encourages defense related businesses to expand or relocate in Texas.
In addition to being elected as Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector, Sullivan is the owner of Mike Sullivan Interests, LLC, and previously served the City of Houston as a city councilman representing District “E”. He has also served as a member of the Humble Independent School District Board of Trustees and as an advisory director of the HealthCare Corporation of America’s Gulf Coast Division. Additionally, he is an ex-officio director of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership.
