Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mails 23,088 January Reminder Notices

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan began mailing postcard notices to property owners, last week. So far, he has has sent 23,088 postcards to Harris County residents. The notices are being sent to property owners whose accounts have been requested by a mortgage company but taxes had not been paid as of January 20, 2015. The goal is to notify the property owner the account is not paid and asks them to check with their lender about the tax payment. Property owners want to ensure their lender pays the taxes before the deadline, to avoid late fees.

As a reminder, our office will be open late to assist customers until 6:30 p.m. Friday, January 30 and Monday, February 2.
