Mike Sullivan Launches Property Tax Workshops

Workshops to discuss property tax protests, exemptions and payment agreements

Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan joins the Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD) and Harris County Commissioners El Franco Lee, Jack Morman, Steve Radack and R. Jack Cagle to announce a series of Property Tax Workshops to discuss property tax protests, exemptions and payment agreements.

“For the past year, my office has worked with community organizations to educate residents about property taxes and how to lower their tax burden,” said Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan. “I’m happy to announce that my office is partnering with HCAD and all Harris County Commissioners offices to bring a series of Property Tax Workshops straight to taxpayers. I want to personally thank HCAD officials and Commissioners Lee, Morman, Radack and Cagle for their commitment and assistance to the taxpayers of Harris County.”

The Property Tax Workshops are open to the public and will discuss how to protest property taxes, learn what exemptions are available and how to obtain a payment agreement for delinquent tax bills. “The last day to file a property tax protest is June 2, 2014,” said Mr. Sullivan. “I encourage taxpayers to take full advantage of these Property Tax Workshops. I want to ensure that taxpayers understand their rights and are prepared so they can protest their appraisals.”
