Mike Sullivan Kicks-Off National Voter Registration Day

Harris County joins nationwide effort to register voters on September 23, 2014

HOUSTON — Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan kicks-off National Voter Registration Day, September 23, 2014 in Harris County to register voters before the upcoming November 4, 2014 election.

“Registering to vote is very easy and I want it to be accessible to every Harris County resident,” said Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan. “That’s why I’m launching a massive voter registration drive on September 23rd for National Voter Registration Day to get all eligible residents registered to vote. Just visit my website and find a voter registration drive closest to you.”

Residents can visit http://www.hctax.net and find the Harris County National Voter Registration Day webpage to see where they can register to vote. They can also update their registration information if they have moved within Harris County or had their name changed under the Voter Registration tab.

“For the past year and half, my office has worked with more than 50 community organizations to help get more people registered to vote,” said Mr. Sullivan. “From conducting volunteer deputy voter registrar trainings to hosting voter registration drives, we’re working to ensure eligible voters are registered to vote in the upcoming election.”

National Voter Registration Day is a one-day coordinated effort to register voters across the nation. It began in 2012 and is a 50-state effort to educate and register voters. The 2014 National Voter Registration Day will be held on September 23, 2014. The last day to register to vote for the November 4, 2014 election is October 6, 2014.
