Early voting is already underway for the 2014 Primary Election and Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan reminds residents to check their voter registration status before they vote.
“Voting is incredibly important and I’m excited to announce that we currently have over 2 million registered voters for the March, 4, 2014 Primary Election, an increase from last year’s general election,” said Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan. “With this increase, I want to ensure all registered voters know their voter registration status before they go to the polls.”
Harris County residents can check their voter registration status at www.hcvoter.net.

If an individual did not register to vote by the February 3, 2014 cut-off, they will not be able to vote in the March 4, 2014 Primary Election. However, they can still register to vote for future elections. “Just because you missed the cut-off to vote in the Primary Election is not a reason to get discouraged,” said Mr. Sullivan. “There will likely be a Primary Run-Off Election in addition to the General Election in November, and those elections matter just as much. Visit my website to learn the qualifications to vote and get registered.”
Early Voting for the Primary will run until Friday, February 28, 2014. The Primary Election Day is March 4, 2014. Residents are encouraged to call (713) 274-VOTE (8683) if they have questions or need assistance regarding their voter registration status.
Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan also serves as the Harris County Voter Registrar, which conducts voter registration activities and maintains a certified list of registered voters. Learn more about voter registration and the requirements by visiting www.hcvoter.net.
