Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan wants to ensure taxpayers understand their tax bill and how they can lower their tax burden.
He's teaming with the Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD) and Commissioners Court to announce the second series of Property Tax Workshops. The mission is to discuss property taxes, protests, exemptions and payment options.
“After launching the property tax workshops last year and receiving incredible feedback, I’m happy to announce that we’re bringing these workshops back,” said Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan. “I want to personally thank HCAD and Harris County Commissioners El Franco Lee, Jack Morman, Steve Radack, R. Jack Cagle and Judge Ed Emmett for their commitment and assistance to make these workshops possible.”
The Property Tax Workshops are open to the public and will discuss how property taxes are calculated, how to protest appraisal values, available exemptions and payment options. “The deadline to pay is February 2, 2015. My office will be assisting taxpayers with payments by credit card and check at the workshops,” said Mr. Sullivan. “I encourage taxpayers to take full advantage of these Property Tax Workshops. My goal is to create the best customer service experience possible.”
